Hamann SS CEL Header Exhaust Question
Hello, i just purchased the hamann exhaust system through HSU and will be installing them onto my 330i shortly. I want to also buy and install the supersprint headers onto this system. I did look at all the forums that came up from teh search and find out that the CEL will go off and heard some suggestions on how to take it off, but has anyone on here actually achieved taking the CEL off using the SS headers? Pics will go up once i do get them installed, i just wanted to ask if anyone had any luck w/ getting the CEL off. I know Tecknik installed these as well, but didnt hear whethe he was able to turn off the CEL. thanks!

i have a 325i...
u and me are the only ones known to date with SS headers... i got mines from hunter, n there sweet i also got the RT high flow cats along with the headers, and put those in... i was originally gonna extend my o2 sensors, and basically trick my ecu, but i didnt wanna waste time on that so yes i currently have a "service engine soon" light, and its annoying nonetheless, but harmless im workn with my friend at his shop, and im waiting on this company to finish up there 325/330 software, and am just gonna get that, and have it tuned to where the ecu think i have NO cats at all, and will result in NO engine light. im still doing some research on the software, bcuz im also going to do the 330 conversion with the manifold n all that, but ye, ur best bet is to get software to lie to ur car essentially man. but the end resulting sound, is worth all the damn engine lights in the world if u really want no light tho, just when u install them, have them extend the o2 sensors further down ur exhaust and u shud be good....

try these i have heard good things about them. not sure if they will fit perfect. but you can try. this way you dont have to do any wire extensions!
http://www.omnipowerusa.com/product.asp?P_ID=138 next option would be to find a o2 simulator that would give a good enough signal to the dme to trick it. |

I want to get SS headers and my current setup is as follows:
RD Sport muffler with secondary cat delete (Basically a muffler with strait piping), 3-stage intake manifold with stage I 330i software, and Dinan Ram-air Intake with RPI scoops. My main concern is performance gains. Will I loose power/torque by installing these with my setup?

I don't know where to dyno the car to begin with. I want to. I have the manifold on and the software loaded and the car is substantially faster too. There's this place in Irvine that wants 80 dollars to dyno the car and I'm like...dude...80 dollars for a dyno...no thanks I'll take my chances else-where...

I spent 650 on the manifold itself. Each Actuator was another 180. And the bolts and screws for the parts were 75. As for the software: it would've been 800 but instead I got a refund for my DTE and used that as credit so that part was free. The install was 1k. Autowerks in HB did that. I recommend getbmwparts.com. I wish I knew about them before I purchased. They were selling it for 450. About a 200 dollar difference. And it's strait from the factory so you know it's good.

But ya back to the headers question. Does anybody know if with my setup I'd loose power? I want to get them so bad but I'm still skeptical. I'm also going to have a second muffler made by RD Sport and do a dual twin-pipe setup.

Also, just so you know, 80 dollars for a dyno run is cheap. Usually places charge 100 dollars. |
