No SES but BMW specific codes for emissions

Just got car inspected at dealer, but I guess they didn't scan the car for dealer specific codes. I thought it was supposed to be protocol to do that.

I cleared them myself now; lets see if they return.

I cleared the BMW codes; they have not come back yet.

I guess if they come back, then it is a definite problem.

I have a 4D16 that keeps coming back. Dealer replaced the SCR yet it continues to show up. They tell me it's because I don't drive it enough. I guess the code tripping while on a 500mi trip to kansas city counts as "not enough".

4C7B came back for me. I can actually hear the valve tapping for about 30s after shutting off the car. I also heard it at start up once after the car wasn't started for 8 days. It will definitely need to be fixed by the dealer at the next visit.

Looks like more emissions issues. So eventually the SES light came on today for this.

Yes, paid full price. Running on Android tablet with Bluetooth module.

Sounds sweet. How much would a Bluetooth module cost? Can you recommend one? How do you find the app to be so far?

I'm using the ELM327 Bluetooth module. It's inexpensive. I love the app. Trying to work with the developer to do more cool stuff for the DDE7.3.

FYI, the realtime engine parameters are not yet available for the DDE7.3. It should be in the works.

Correct. I use Torque Pro for realtime parameters.

I emailed the app developer and this is what he said:

"On Android there is a parameter function available which gives you !real time” values – depending on the engine in different speed."

I am planning to use BMWHat, which according to its website does have an IOS version, but for Wifi only.
