Well I did a blackout and reflector delete other than that a few evenings of work. Nothing too intense.

lol. Search man, its been said 100x.

but to answer your question: Lux 5.2 for pre-lci
http://luxangeleyes.com/products/lux-e90

or you can go with Predator Orion V4 LED Angel Eyes from Umnitza (same used by OSS)

Not too intense? I've heard nothing but "don't do it" in every thread.

Even the people that have done the diy don't recommend doing it and say they'd never do it again, etc.

Did you use a heat gun and screwdriver or what?

I dremel'd the lenses (cut them open) did a retro fit of projectors, and AE's to my halogens. Not the best cut on my first headlight but I don't have condensation in them for over a year so it's a win for me.

If I had halogen I would consider that. Not sure what the op has, but for xenon's I decided it was way too big a pita/ risk to cut/heat them open as these aren't the typical soft glue...

Agree. Wouldn't do it unless you don't mind having to find another one.

Back to your original question, just accept that the brightest replacement bulb is not going to look like the multi LED kits that are out now and roll with that.

STick in HID on angel light housing. I've tried many different bulbs and LED but HID came out brightest(but you need relay to get 12v).

So if you dremel your headlight it looks like you destroyed your lens. How do you correct it?

For that headlight I applied sealant like the other light and applied more pressure to both sides to stick together when putting them back together for a good 24hrs

Honestly, I have friends who have $30 AEs from eBay and they look similar to mine (MTEC V3). I can't comment on overall build quality though, they just look very similar in light output compared to mine...

Also a 4700uF capacitor soldered into the wires leading from the driver side bulb to the ballast. HID's were the brightest, but they were such a pain in the ass to maintain and keep from going out.

I disagree. Ive seen Lux compared to a lot of other brands (in person) and it is by far the brightest and whitest. I'd consider that special.

You get what you pay for. If you want to go cheap then good luck, the electronics in these cars are very finicky and if you burn something up the money you saved will not come close to what it will cost to fix.
