Red face 330 Seats

I have a 2006 330 and love the car except I cannot get comfortable in the seat. I am good sized, but not overly wide. Nevertheless, the side bolster pinch my hips to the point that the ride is downright uncomfortable.

Does anyone have advice, or does anyone know of aftermarket options for seats with softer side bolsters?

I am literally at the point of having to do something or sell the car. Sitting on a cushion helps, but then that is not a long term solution.

Thanks

I take it you have the sport package. Have you adjusted the bolsters to their maximum?

Welcome to the forum.

You didn't notice that before buying?

It's isn't much help but I must agree. I test drove an E90 with the same seats before I bought mine.

Swap them out for some Recaro's if it is really that big of a problem. Recaro (althought its racing seats) offers a wide variety and you might find something that's comfortable for you. I wouldn't go with Bride or Sparco, I think most of their seats are smaller and more "race" orientated. If not, perhaps you can retrofit a 5 Series seat into your car. If some mounts can be fabricated, it shoudn't be too difficult. Personally I think the seats with Sports package are excellent.

One of the few things that I dislike about the e90 compared with previous BMW's is that the side airbags are seat mounted. This eliminate the option of using aftermarket seats unless the aibags are disabled.

330 seats

Actually, I test drove two cars, each for about 20 minutes and had no problem. Unfortunately it wasn't til I had a 50 minute commute that they became uncomfortable. Then with more use, by the end of the week I was actually having to take Advil to reduce the pain.

I've had no problems with my former Acura CL bucket seats, but they are much softer.

Atty, thanks for the compliment, but some may argue that point.

I have seen other posts saying the sport seats are more comfortable than the standard???

The dealer has tried to be helpful, but is limited in what they can offer. The 5 series seats are about the same, but I'm wondering if the X3 seats may be softer.

I'm in a similar boat.

I have been to the seat upholserer three times and am due to go back again to add cushion to the seat back.

That may be an option for you.

Good luck.
