2nd dumb question: can the doors be set to unlock when the car is turned off?

I've got a post sept car, so I can set each key to have the doors lock when the car starts moving ... but I'm used to also having them unlock when the ignition is turned off (e46 sytle). Dealer is saying nope. Doesn't look like there's a menu setting for it.

Can you idrive guys program it? If it's there, then I know the dealer can do it, they're just being stoopid.

I don't think so. And the consensus here says the same. I wish there was a way to do it though

It must be possible somehow. The Euro spec models do it. My doors lock automatically when I drive off. Then when I'm stopped and I push the fob in to remove it, the doors will unlock. I'm not sure how it works with Comfort Access though. There must be a setting somewhere in the computer to have that happen.

What we need is the E90 computer bible. It's somewhere, out there in digital form -- if only someone was brave enough to hack/steal it and reveal to the world all the features we can program -- now that's true customization!

My service advisor also told me that this was not possible when I got the auto-lock set on a software update to my pre-Sept car. Bummer. Now the double-pump to open the door has become a habit after 6 months.

I have an October build car with CA and it unlocks all doors as soon as I press the "Start/Stop" button. It must be only in the US that it doesn't do it.

I have noticed that if I have opened a door while the engine is running, ie to get my mail, the system gets confused and does not unlock the doors when I turn the engine off.
