Where would you buy tires - GTA
As the title says, where would you purchase tires?
I'm looking into purchasing a dedicated winter set. Other than Tirerack, 1010tires, simply tire, and tires23, does anyone else know where's a good retailer for tires? And no, no Canadian Tire, thanks. |

Joycity Tires has similar prices to tirerack when you factor in duties etc. They are located in Markham and Toronto.

Check out Z-Racing in Mississauga. Last year he had a deal on for maxBimmer forum members. $1000 tax-in cash only, including install.
This was for 4 brand-new 18x8 BBS CH replicas in matte black, wrapped in brand-new Sailun IceBlazer tires 225/40/18. I referred my friend for a winter set for his Audi A3 and he got a ridiculously good deal as well, and I also hooked up a friend on his summer set for his MkIV Jetta.

I had Sailun winter tires and mid-season switched to Dunlop's and the difference was night and day. The Sailuns are a pretty crappy tire from what I experienced. I would buy from Tirerack or Tires23, they will be the best deals for a good tire. Or you can scour the forums for a used set. |

I didn't have a problem with them. In fact I'm using Blizzaks this year and barely notice a difference.
Z-Racing has other packages with nicer tires for a bit more.

I bought my Michelin x-ice 3 from tires 23 this year and they seem to be the cheapest. This is my second set of tires from them and I have referred others and they all said they were the cheapest.

The truth is it depends on what you are looking for, what inventory the tires shop has and how aggressive they want to be on pricing. Simply Tire, Tires23 and a few other places are all good starting points. The bottom line is that it pays to shop around and ideally have an idea of what you are looking for.
My Michelin PSS's that I bought this summer were had for an amazing price from a Toronto shop that was cheaper than anywhere I could find, even US vendors. Why? They had exactly what I was looking for and wanted to move them out the door. Timing was everything! Sourcing a replacement set of run flats for my rear winters the past few weeks. The best price was from my local tire shop hands down. They found inventory and beat best online price cross boarder Bottom line: It definitely pays to look around, ask questions and then decide.
