335d Suprising delivery date

So I ordered my 335d on Tuesday.

Dealer has just told me it will be ready to collect from them 2nd week of Jan...?

WTF? How can that be so quick?

Garage List
Maybe they had a build slot already that they could amend to your spec.

I ordered last week and was told to expect mid Feb.

@Apl335d:
Cancelled order and you got in at just the right time. Similar thing happened to me with my Mk6 Golf GTI. Got it in 4 weeks when others were waiting 4-6 months!

I ordered mine on the 18th November, it was built on 26th November and I take delivery on 11th December. The dealer is fairly surprised by how quick it's been. Looking at the cars either side of my VIN it seems most people are going for a fairly similar set of options with only a few minor variances.

Oh well, the vagaries of the BMW logistics system! For a while they were telling me it would be here start of December! How it can be that a car that was built before you even ordered, can't even be in the country before you get yours delivered is absurd.

Mine was originally due 18th November, latest update was week 51.......like that's going to happen, so I'm realistically expecting it in January now.

I'm wondering something similar about mine. I just an awkward conversation with the dealer... told them that if it wasn't available for me to collect by the 17th then as I'm out of the country till almost the new year then I don't want it registered till 1st Jan. He then said something about it having been already included in the Dec figures for them, and that I may need to pay 2014 prices if I delay it!

Not sure. My dealership are trying to find out. I've had no explanation as to why it disappeared for such a long time!
Apparently it is now 'left plant' and on it's way the port. I think they call it stage '9000'???
Hopefully find out more early next week...

Exact same as mine. The dealer is promising to do everything thing it possibly can once car is in UK, but until then apparently there is nothing that can be done.

Best of luck there. I'm almost feeling guilty mine is arriving so fast.

Said the same to me today
In fairness to them they are pulling out all the stops to keep me happy. But BMW on the other hand...I won't get into it now!
Good luck Tengo

A bit of tongue in cheek. I honestly feel for you on this one, I've only been waiting 3 weeks and I've got pretty excited about delivery, I can't imagine how frustrated you must feel waiting so long.

Any other time of the year it wouldn't be much of an issue, but we need the care to go to Poland for Christmas, and the travel arrangements are booked already!
Additionally it was booked to get paint protection film installed as soon as we got it and also new car detail and sealant... doubtful it will happen, and it will spoil much of the pleasure of getting a new car.

Luck of the draw i suppose.
I ordered my motor the last week of Feb 2013, was on the road at end of March 2013. Around 5 weeks. Possibly a one off though. Don't expect my next one will be as quick as that.

Picked mine up today. 300 miles on the clock now!

Only 3.5 weeks from order but I think a build slot that the dealer had had something to do with that.
