On the E92 it's fairly easy. Some E90 are a bit harder because you have to install from the fender liner. None of this is exactly bone chilling difficult. Just an extra step.
On a scale of 1-10 I would say it's a 2. Hardest part about it is the tight spacing so if you have big hands it can be hard but the concept is as easy as changing out a light bulb. Let me know if you need any help choosing an angel eye. We have various options ranging from 40W and 80W for some applications. |

Yeah on the e90 LCI and pre-LCI its a pain in the butt since you have remove the wheel, jack up the car and also remove fender plastic liner cover. I followed a youtube video 4 yrs ago and installed them myself. Took me about 2 hrs but it was worth it. My new angel lights look so much brigher, than regular yellowish stock ones.
I love to drive my e90 and have only my angel lights ON on sunset. you can tell everyone looks at them. At least 4 yrs ago when angel lights were the new thing. I hate it now all the new cars are coming out with angel lights concept. Even frickin american cars, VW have the angel light followed the BMW angel light concept. Anyways...Cheers! |

e92 is a pain unless you have tiny hands. vendors always say it's easy. while the process is simple, trying to work normal size hands in there is a frustrating process

Took me 20-30mins on e92. trickiest part is making sure it is completely re-seated (not just partly locked in). I have small ish hands, but it was easier than I expected. Can always gently use a screwdriver to push the bulb housing into the fully locked position

ive done em on an 06 e90 and 09 e92. the e92 was easy and took me maybe 20 minutes, but i can see how someone with big hands or fat fingers would go ape shit trying to install them.

Did mine tonight on a E90 LCI in the dark and I didn't jack it up or take the wheel wells out. It can be done. I just used a flashlight and did it. My hands are shredded, but it's not that hard.
It's a 2 to me. Not saying I am anything, but I was a F-15/16 Crew Chief for 13 years and an A&P mechanic. In my experience, this was pretty easy.
