Help me choose engine for my 2 series 20i/20d

Hey guys
I would like to ask those of you,who has some experiences with new 20i/20d engines and how they are.
I know,lot of people here are just in m235i, but in my country starting prices for 20i/20d with auto transmission is 32000/34500 eur (43000/46000 dollars),m135i starting on 42000 eur. So "little bit" pricy
So thats about money,i can choose just between 20i/20d,i dont have money for stronger version

Is difference in price really really worth it,to buy little stronger diesel?(torque)
I dont drive too much,about 70-100km a day,so for me its really not difference between price petrol/diesel,it will return me 2500 higher buying price in about 5 years,which is not so important for me
For me its about performance between these two and how good this engines are(which one is maybe less faulty?)

if you're doing 70-100km (and you live in europe

) go for diesel.. performance (0-100) is almost the same, you get more torque, it'll be worth more than 220i and fuel comsumption is lower

i think it's hard to say which one is less faulty.. but I've read somewhere that diesel with 8AT "shakes" the car a little when it's turned on with start&stop function (petrol doesn't)..
