Passport Max Blendmount for M5 (Mirror)

I just received email from Blendmount that I can now pre-order the mount for the Passport Max. I went to their web-site and was asked to determine the type of mirror. Based on the picture shown, the BLENDMOUNT ID#-BMW-006 Metal Stem 3/4" Dia. (With 2 Piece Plastic Housing) seems to be the closest that resembles the M5 mirror and upon choosing the Passport Max Detector was taken to another page with the following description: BlendMount Radar Detector Mount for Escort Passport Max, European, BMX-2117. Could somebody share their info as to whether this is would be the correct type for our M5? Thanks.

I used this one for my valentine one and it fits perfectly:

Base BLENDMOUNT ID#-BMW-006
Metal Stem 3/4" Dia.
(With 2 Piece Plastic Housing)

BlendMount Radar Detector Mount for Beltronics / Escort Valentine One, European, BV1-2017
it is the same base but for the different detector...

If I select that base, but your passport max it tells me to get BMX-2117,

So I think BMX-2117 IS the right one for your car!

I know they are pre ordering now. What's the expected release date for the release?

Anyone get their passport Max in a blend mount yet? Thoughts on the Max/blendmount?

It's too conspicuous. You're putting the radar detector in the middle of the windshield effectively.

I would recommend either mount it high and then use a remote smartcord, or get a concealed unit.

Btw the reason you don't want it visible is because some punk will come along and break your window to steal it. It's a $500 prize - Escorts have great resale.

Yea, that makes sense. I wouldn't leave anything out or exposed in my car. I won't even leave my phone in my car when I run in to Dunkin and my car in in direct sight...

Yeah no kidding. I'm sure people are looking out for expensive cars anyway.

One of my friends had a blendmount and they broke his window, and then ripped off the entire rear view mirror with the blendmount and the detector. The radar was a fraction of his loss.

My brother once his window broken because he just left a mount on the windshield and it looked like they had rummaged through the glovebox and the center console.

I've never heard of someone trying to steal an installed detector like a stir+. It's just too much work to steal.

Ughhhhh. if it's not nailed down, people will try to steal it... I need to sneak an stir under the radar (no pun intended) from my GF. She isn't too happy that she didn't get an engagement ring for Christmas and I got an M5. She knew fully that that was the order though. She'll have a ring by the time the car comes in so hopefully she won't ask any questions about how expensive the radar system is lol

Agreed. I have the 9500 installed and placed the control unit in the ashtray and the visuals in the rear view mirror. Totally concealed and nothing to worry about. Paid a few bucks more, but worth it. Have a solo2 previously and the thieves even look to see if suction mount remnants have been left on windshields and still break in. Jmo

I love the look of the display inside the mirror. How much more difficult/expensive is that?

Most dealers here send in your mirror to the same person. It's $600 installed in the mirror by radar-mirror.com. You can also order direct from him, but then you'll have to concelle the lines yourself. Very good look once complete.

Not needed. I have my Max mounted high, wired to lighter concealed, and close to the mirror in dark mode. I don't need to see anything. Just warn me and be gone.

They are good too. They tinted the windows on my Porsche. I went to the other place because they gave me a much better deal and they are one of the only authorized installed for the xpel clear bra. They are both good installers tho. Good luck. Let me know if I can help.
