Looking at a 2014 X3 28i and have some questions
My lease on my 2011 e93 is coming due and looking to get something bigger for the family and looked at the X1 but having not much more room then my e93 and also having a lot of plastic on the interior we looked at an X3 and think we are heading that way.
Questions I have are: 1. Looks like the end of the build year and they have canceled some stuff, like sports package..anyone know when the new year gets announced? 2. I love my sport seats and it looks like the only way to order them now is with M sport....is M sport really worth it on a X3? 3. If I do go M sport in the past it lost me the heated steering wheel...looks like it keeps it on the X3, is that true? 4. Is it worth adding the Dynamic Damper Control to the M sport package? 5. What looks better with black interior, aluminum or wave wood? 6. Are the manual side shades worth getting, I have a toddler? Thanks

1. There is no sports package for MY 14 X3. Never was offered for MY 14. MY15 build starts on 1 April 2014. We will probably see the order sheets in Feb and initial orders for MY 15 will probably start bn March
2-4 Highly personal question. Best to drive it yourself and decide if it is worth it to you. Many people who post on these forums believe the M sport package with all the options and the tech package with HUD are all necessary. I do not have M Sport or DHP or Tech (I do have nav). I am very pleased. 5 I have black leather and wave wood. I like it. I am not a metal/glass decor kind of person. I am a leather/wood kind of person. Highly personal kind of decision...you have to sit in your car, I don't. 6 They shade the back seat nicely. However, they are something for small hands to play with. What kind of toddler do you have? One that can't keep their hands off the blinds and learns by touching? Or one that can keep their hands to themselves?

My current lease is up on 4/30 so maybe I can get a MY 15 if I order in Feb, wonder if the pricing on the MY 15 will be out soon.
No one around here has an X3 with M sport so no test for me I know interior and colors are personal choice....but again no one has a black and aluminum for me to see, I did see the black and wave and it did look nice. Good point on the shades, have a 2 year old and right now she is good...but time will tell. Might be just worth getting a stick on kind if I need them.

I have a '13 35i MSport. I would not say it is a must have but it adds to the styling and the sport seats are great. Very supportive but still great on a long trip. Yes you do get a heated wheel with MSport and Cold Weather. I have dynamic suspension, and tech pkg with HUD, and rear/side view cameras. All add to the total package. I have Sand Beige with fine line Siena.

I think I am either going with Vermillion red / black int or deep sea blue / black int.
If I do go with the M sport I think I will add every option except lane departure Do you get lots of complements on the red? I have not seen many in that color around me.

1) You hardly ever see it (and I like to be different). 2) My wife's '11 328i is Deep Sea Blue and I didn't want to be a copy cat. (But I secretly wanted the Deep Sea Blue) I also have the M Sport package and really like not having the ugly black plastic bumper and trim. (I think the sport seats are worth the extra money all by themselves)

I have the rear shades and it's nice to have. Another option is just to get the rear tinted darker for the same amount of $.
Msport is not a must have but the seats alone is a very nice feature. Get the top view camera. Worth every penny. I use it all the time. I have the red interior with the wave wood. |

Yes. The M Sport wheel can be heated. The button is located on the left of the steering column, hidden. Been using it a lot recently and it works great. My wish is that there was an on/off indicator visible from the driving position - the orange LED is on the button. |

Just me but I would only get the M if I got the 35i. Paying $3k for the M on a 28I doesn't make sense to me but splurge for it once you have the bigger and more performance engine. If I could only afford one I would get the 35i. Otherwise buy a Lexus . Just my opinion. Take it for what it's worth.
