Remote Climate Control Activation
I was activating "my BMW Remote" today, and I was surprised to see that it listed climate control as one of the available options.. I thought it was only available for the 7 series.
I tried it out just now, and when I arrived at the car, sure enough I could hear the fan running from outside the car. The air was blowing through the AC, but it didn't seem like it was hot air coming out (normally I would expect the engine to be running to create heating). Does anyone have any insights on this? It seems like a fairly useless feature if it only circulates air (and not cools/heats). |

To use it as you intend to you have to get the auxiliary heating.
It a separate small engine that gets the car and the car engine warm. You can activate it via a special remote or the remote app or through the timer option of the settings in the car config. |

It makes a difference in the summer when you live in a very hot climate. Inside car temperatures can climb to 140 degrees on a hot summer day while the ambient temperatures will be much less. Activating the systems pushes the outside cooler air into the car which reduces the high temperature build up in the car.
