Exclamation Safety Recall...

I'm on a business trip...but my wife just called me that we have received a defect recall letter by post recalling a series of models: 2012-2014 3 series, 5 series, X1, X3,... (mine is 2013 328i)
Seems to be a pump or something...I'll be back tomorrow to see what it is exactly....
anyone else received anything recently?

Only recall I saw was for the 328i brakes, which was posted here a couple months ago.

nothing comes up for my VIN on http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/conte...er/recall.aspx

wonder if it is just update yet or maybe they are waiting for fix

NOTES:
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.

i still have to go see if mine is the same one...
but does this mean all vehicles in the model year or they will call individuals?
I've received a letter by post...I'm guessing mine is in it, right?

reading some of the letters from BMW on safecar.gov it hints that this only affects cars with cams from a certain manufacturer and not all are affected. I am guessing it will all be by vin at some point when they eventually release it.

shaw: does your recall come up when you put your vin on BMW's web site? (bmwusa for us not sure what yours has)

I got the initial recall notice letter on the day I finished my break-in period. I was amused by the timing.
