Big thumbs up for v12

Not sure if there's anyone left out there that may be on the fence in regard to coding. If you are, contact v12. I can't say enough good things about him. Everything I've read about his level of service is true. One thing I didn't expect is ability to listen to what I have to say instead of telling me what he thinks I may want to hear (The Art of Conversation). So here's how I rate my experience;

Pros : Everything. Wait let me think........ yea, everything!
Cons: That damn ENET cable. I felt like I was going to break something trying to remove it!

V12 is great! I had him do both my cars... far easier than trying to figure it out on my own.

I want to get the wife's X5 coded, but she not interested at all. At the same time she loves when the doors unlock when the engine is turned off.

Same here spent about 2 hrs tonight.

The coding took about an hour and the rest of the time we explored other options and tired a few things.

V12 comes highly recommended ! He emailed me the instructions and download links and the same day we were coding.

I just completed a lengthy coding session on my 2014. Here's what I did.
1) Changed iDrive accent from American to English. Sounds much more civilized now.
2) Replaced M Logo animation with Merry Christmas animation (temporary change)
3) Automatically unlock doors when engine turned off
4) Disabled orange side-marker LEDs (these are the orange Ralph Nader side lights that are permanently on whenever the headlights are on, doesn't affect turn signals)
5) Set Halos to full power even when headlights are on
6) Disabled iDrive legal disclaimer
7) Disabled rear, side and top view camera legal disclaimer
8) Enabled DVD in motion
9) Enabled fob and internal button to close trunk (currently only opens)
10) Enabled mirrors to be folded via comfort access
11) Removed interruption that occurs when rolling up windows if you open the door
12) Enabled temperature and pressure readings on TPMS status screen in iDrive

Can you post a picture of this (assuming this is more than just scrolling to TPMS in idrive and car displaying temp + pressure, as is std in UK)?

How does this work, just press the relevant camera button when moving forwards (at any speed) and get side or top/rear view? If so, sounds interesting. Can this coding result in any glitches, i.e. std functions may stop working/become erratic, i.e. top view fails to work when selecting reverse (I know that can happen without coding, however, can coding potentially increase this or are the options all hidden by BMW anyway)? Please forgive my ignorance in advance.

No that's what it is. In the US they don't give us that feature so we have to code it.

@V12 How do you do these:

Change ///M animation duration in HUD (///M cars with HUD only)

Increase rain sensor sensitivity for auto wipers

Rear DRL on cars with LED lighting package - which DRL_MODUS setting do I want to add rear DRL without changing front?

Turning off Amber side marker lights inside headlight for cars with LED lighting package

Can we openly discuss this now? Rich asked me not to mention anything here until the results met his high standard.

I think so... I think you were the lucky first. I think spiny and I were next. As far as I could tell after an hour of driving through all different types of lighting and traffic conditions, it works flawlessly. what has been your experience since you have had it coded for a while now?

Ok, cool!

From what I have seen, it's not ready for prime time. With the auto high beam assist enabled the lights will separate and leave a darker spot in the middle when I get close to another car from the rear. But after that it's stuck.

The lights won't go back to normal (close), as a result long distance visibility is diminished. This is with no other cars on a dark road.

The spot light feature remains untested. There's not a lot of people walking around at night in the winter! I even tried to recruit my family, but they were not having it!

Then there's that new "Exterior Lighting" menu item in the iDrive. It's nonfunctional but it's promising.

I was really excited at first but after a few test drives, I'm better off leaving the auto high beam assist feature off and manually turning the high beams on/off.
