My E92 N54 Thread...

Hey guys! I'm new to the BMW scene. This is the second vehicle I have ever owned.

I'm 22

The first car I bought was right out of high school... A '65 Chevelle Four Door.
I picked it up for $5k and about 6 months in my transmission blew (700R4 mated to a '89 TBI 5.7L). So I went the LSx route... I was able to part together all this using junk yard parts.

30k Miles LSx 6.0L V8 mated to a 4L80E

$0 on labor and learning how to do everything myself = Priceless

Videos:

Finished Engine Bay: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...12684070819327

Quick Burnout: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v...66631293456303

Then came the accident:

Which can only be summed up this video: http://distilleryvesper10-2.ak.insta...03f9f8_101.mp4

Cliff Notes: Stopped in traffic in the slow lane... Lady in a white SUV hits me at high way speeds without even braking. Hit me so hard even my seat brackets broke...

Then came the 335i...

Let me see if I can fix that...

I was able to pull out the video URL through inspecting the element:

http://distilleryvesper10-2.ak.insta...03f9f8_101.mp4

Hopefully that works now

I'm not sure if this has been done before but it is a very basic wiring mod.
I like to charge my phone sometimes by placing it in my glovebox while in class... So I grabbed a circuit tester and two add-a-circuits from the local auto parts store.

This runs a constant +12v source to the Cig. Socket, can be removed in seconds if needed. It has been a very useful mod so far... takes less than 10 minutes.

It's great if you're religious about unplugging whatever's plugged into a constant 12V source. I guess for a cell phone you'll be all right since you can't go too long without forgetting about it.

Just make sure your power plug has a very very low standby current draw.

I just a have 2.1 AMP Charger for my phone, nothing else ever plugged in.

Do you really think it could have that big off an affect on the battery? I mean our vehicles come with REST mode with all the vents open/heat fans running, auto adjusting seats when you walk up to the car, etc. - those should have a more draw i would think than a 12v 2.1 Amp charger running to a 2600mAh battery.

Good on you building up a cool car, love the LS engines.
Was it a LQ9 iron block or an LS2?

Sorry some dumb ass totaled it, esp being you built it with your own two hands.
That must have been esp hard.

I see you have good taste, everyone has a hard on for the LCI bmw's but IMO the pre-LCI sport coupes look aggressive and classy all at once.

Updates 02/19/14

How the car sits as currently:

Exterior:
Debadged (Free)
Pained M3 Trunk Lip (Ebay Special)
Satin Black Kidney Grilles (Sandpaper, Paint, and Patience)
"Plastidipped" Lower Grilles (Can of Plastidip, Painters Tape, and Latex Balloons)

Interior:
Stock

Drivetrain:
Vishnu Procede Rev 2.5 (Used $200)
Vishnu PWM Methanol Kit (Used $375)
VRSF Charge Pipe (New $160)
TiAL BOV (Used $90)
Alpina TCU Flash ($60)
S&B Dual Air Filters ($60)
Gutted OEM Downpipes ($100)

Still need to switch out the worm gear to the corbin clamp as well as loom a few wires.

The shorter of the two downpipes can be gutted using a traditional drill and rod method. Where as the other one (due to it's length and bends) has to be cut. Measure before cutting so the trap door welds will not be seen once installed. Drop off your down pipe at a local exhaust shop to be welded shut, $15-$20 max.

2.5gal Trunk Mount Setup... Dual Nozzles tapped into the intercooler output pipe.
