F30 Jacking adaptor & Trolley Jack

Hi all....Advice please.

I have been looking at the F30 jacking adaptors on ebay so I can buy a half decent trolley jack since obviously the car comes without...The adaptors are 75mm base though which don't seem to match the trolley jack saddle I've looked at..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/BMW-3-SERI...item3a87cf82f3

Just been on Halfords website..

Anyone using a different adaptor..

I'm using a similar jack adapter but I never felt 100% using the adapter with the small head trolley jacks; I brought one of these Liftmaster low profile trolley jacks, which accommodates the entire base of the adapter.

Where did you purchase and how much?

Is the diameter of the saddle bigger than 75 mm?

Who does the jack adapter base need to match the trolley jack? Mine doesn't and I've not had any problems.

Just so happens I have an image! The Jack was about £100 from Liftmaster Store on eBay. Its a touch more expensive than the regular joe jacks from Halfords. I had a few problems with my old jack getting it under my E91 and F31, this one has no issues and that includes the adapter in place.

I don't suppose it has to.

Just seems strange why you would manufacture adapters that don't fit within the average jack saddle....

I take it the OD of your adaptor is bigger?

Thanks for the photo..!

Did the adaptor come with the jack...is it the exact size of the sill inserts?

The adapter you will have to buy separately; fits the F3X and E9X perfectly.

I brought the adapter from ebay, paid about 15 quid for (based off current ebay prices....looks like I paid too much). The chap I brought from doesn't appear to selling them at the mo.

As for you other post, I'm reckon 1.5 tonne would be fine because your not jacking up the entire weight of the car. I went for the 2 tonne model because thats I could find at the time, but price wise it has hardly anything in it.

If you want something that is flat and supports the entire base of the adapter, you'll need something like the first Amazon link.
