Pre lci i-drive upgrades?

I have a 08 pre lci with the old sat nav i-drive.

Just wondering if i could upgrade the software to the new i-drive seen from 09< ?

Ive also heard from somewhere that you could replace the knob to the lci one and the shortcut buttons work, is this true?

You can't upgrade the software to look like the CIC. They are two *VERY* different pieces of hardware.

You'd have to replace the CCC unit with a CIC unit along with replacing the display.

You need to replace the hardware, but it is definitely doable. Please see the following thread: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=460591
