To debadge or not...

I'm really torn... on one hand I don't really care for the XDrive badge, on the other, I kind of like the idea of keeping the 335d badge.

What are others going/have gone for?

I'd personally say de-badge, looks cleaner but then again i've only got the 320d xDrive not the 335d beast!

Why don't you do this:

Ask the dealer a few days before the car is delivered that you have decided that you want it de-badged but its too late because it's left the factory - ask them to do it (it's simple to take off in the dealership / bodyshop and causes no damage as it's a mild heating process I understand) but specify that you only want the xDrive badge taken off, leave the 335d badge on.

Problem solved

I've got a 335d xDrive and debadged it....same as you I HATED the xDrive logo but fairly ambivalent about the 335d one because I wanted people to KNEEL BEFORE ZOD when they saw me coming.

Actually - I rather like having it debadged altogether - looks very clean and you don't get idiots trying to race you at traffic lights. Refreshing.

I've gone for de-badged and was happy for those who 'know' to see the tail pipe either side, and realise it was a 335d.... Then I found out the 335d was reverting to twin pipes on one side!
Will probably still leave it debadged, makes cleaning polishing simpler, and surprising pretty much anything short of Nissan GTR at the lights a touch more amusing!

De-badge it. Badges collect dirt and look rubbish.

I'm keeping mine on. I figure the xDrive badge will piss off Audi drivers who think they're the only ones with traction in the winter.

I collect my 335D on Thursday.

I asked the dealer just to remove the Xdrive badge and they refused to do it.

Apparently it's policy as they can't take responsibility for any damage to the paint work.

Not happy :-(

Nah, I actually like my xDrive badge. Nothing to hide here, don't see Quattro drivers taking their badges off so I'm keeping mine. Loud and proud!

I think cars look weird without badges, like something has dropped off.

The xDrive badge looks awful and tacky (at least the Quattro one looks nice!), plus debadged looks cleaner. Better to be stealthy than brash (mind you, I'm gonna order a Superman so what do I know!!)

Dental floss works great for de badging. Just slide it under the badge and pull toward you.

Personally, when I see a debadged car I think the owner is trying to make their vehicle look like it is something more than it is (eg 320i pretending it is a 335i). If you've got it, flaunt it!

I'm keeping both my badges.

Considering adding one of these...

For me that's the attraction - quite happy for people to think I am pretending something when I am not! I am in the debadged camp - though more from the point of view of thinking I don't give a stuff about other people's opinions / what's it to do with you what engine I have

I debadged mine and pleased I did. As above, I dont like the tacky xdrive badge. Also like the “stealth” and not letting others on the road know what the car is once its blasted past them.

Just get the dealer to take the Xdrive badge off. My dealer was happy to take of the 320d badge (shame the single exhaust gives it away) and leave on the Xdrive badge (yes I think it's cool!)

Great replies guys, thanks.

If the dealer I end up going with can do this, I think that's the way forward for me. If not, I'll debadge all round. Probably going to remove the M logo on the wings too.
