TPMS Question
Do LCI E90s have TPMS on them? My low tire pressure light just went on 1 week after I put my snows/rims on. Tire pressure is fine...
I also tried to reset the light in the cluster and cannot... Cheers...

2) use BC Stalk to toggle to tire symbol 3) press and hold bc stalk button to initiate reset (5-10 secs) 4) once u see the word "resetting"... Then go ahead and start driving your car. 5) get up to freeway speeds and the tpms light should go out. Are u sure u are not using pre-lci tpms's in those tires/wheels with your LCI car? Because they will never work since they use different frequencies. I tend to add 3-4psi above what is listed in the door jam for my go flat tires. |

I just reset the light in the parking lot at work, but did not have a chance to drive it yet. However, I thought that 335s only came with TPMS...
Thanks Fazman

I'm pretty sure USDOT requires that all MY2007+ vehicles purchased in the US require TPMS.
(pardon the alphabet soup)

USDOT requires some sort of TPMS, but there are 2 different types...direct and indirect. Direct measures the actual air pressure thru a sensor that transmits some sort of radio signal from inside the wheel. And indirect will calculate that the pressure is incorrect, usually by using wheel speed sensors...when pressure is low, the overall diameter of the wheel changes, which changes the rotational speed of the wheel in comparison to the other wheels.
Just call me Cliff Claven...I provide lots of information, but none of it really useful.

They are oem winter wheels, but don`t think that they do. The fault came up almost a week and a half after install. Coincidentally, I had a leak as well so I am not sure if it was the sensor or the actual fault...will drive around and let you guys know...

I just have the flat tire monitor system in my 2007 328xi, and I have found it is very sensitive. If my PSI drops by more than 5PSI, it will say I have a flat tire.
The way to calibrate and reset it on iDrive cars is through the service menu. You fill the tires to correct PSI of your choice (I use 40PSI all around), then hit reset and it will store that value as the tires are all correct and full. DO NOT JUST RESET THIS WITHOUT PUTTING ALL TIRES TO THE CORRECT PSI!! |

If your car is Canadian you don't have TPMS. You have a different system that uses the ABS. If you just reset it you should be fine. It's just sensing a difference in your wheel/tire diameter. I'm assuming you went down a size?
