Washer fluid

My washer fluid is low. I'm just wondering what everyone is refilling with.

Here are some of my choices:

Buy the oem stuff from dealer and add some P21S windshield washer booster or 303 washer tablets.

Buy Wurth windshield wash additive and add P21S or 303.

Buy Prestone de icer and add P21S or 303.

The washer fluid that comes with our car from factory is clear and has this unique smell to it and works quite well. I think the dealers only carry the blue fluids.

Will using the wrong washer fluid harm the headlights?

My warning light came on teh other day, and we rarely use it. What the capacity, like 3 tablespoons or something?!!
I CONSIDERED taking it to the dealer to see if they would fill it under the maintenance agreement, but haven't had time yet.

Mine came on yewsterday and I was wondering the same thing. I have used it three times at most (it left a powdery residue so I stopped using it). The light has not come on today so maybe it was a false alarm.

I thought it was a false alarm because we had stopped on a steep angle, but it showed up several times later as well. 8,000 miles and a few squirts between refills???

My light comes on all the time, then goes off magically. I never use it and I have 7,000 miles.

There are many good washer fluids: BMW, sonax, etc...

BUT the most important thing is to use distilled water. If you just use regular water, debris get stuck in the ducts and eventually clog it.

I refill with distilled water and add the P21S additive and have done this since 07 in my car. Excellent results so far but I'll add that I'm in a pretty mild climate.

avoid spraying when you have the headlights on otherwise it activates the headlight jets and wastes a ton of fluid (assuming you have the headlight jets)

when i forst got the car i would add fluid and it looked like the thing was full..because the fluid would reach the top of the tube. But i later found out that it just looked that way..i could keep adding way more fluid and it would continue taking it without overflowing..if you have been filling it yourself, maybe you havent beein filling it to it's full capacity.
