Audio newbie (questions)
Alright, so I'm completely lost. Audio and electronics is the one part of cars that I know nothing about lol. Basically this is my problem:
I went to the dealership to have them tell me which factory sound system I have, and I was told it was Logic7, but it was labeled as option 677 which is Harman-Kardon. Regardless, I have one of the two (which are pretty much the same from what I understand). I want to upgrade my head unit and my speakers, so I looked around and the best head unit I found was the Dynavin D99 since it looks so OEM, integrates all the CANBUS features and steering wheel controls, and has the touchscreen with all the options on it. As for the speakers, I was looking at the BSW stage 1 kit. This seems like a simple all-in-one package so that I won't have to piece the system together. So overall, what is everyone's opinion on this? Will the Dynavin and the BSW system be compatible with my Harman-Kardon/Logic7 system?

Youll need to replace the logic 7 amp. You might need to relocate the stock headunit depending on what options you have.
IMO you are better off with an Alpine, Pioneer, or Kenwood head unit, the janus double din kit, and connects2 harness. The MB Quart or Jehnert 3 way kit would be a better option than BSW. |

Once you replace the head unit and the speakers, there is no logic 7 system left! In any case you will need an amplifier or two if you go aftermarket and perhaps a processor, depending on what your goals are.

The Logic 7 amp/processor isn't compatible with any head unit other than the BMW head unit, as Kai said.
If you're trying to retain Logic 7, and change the HU, you need an MS-8 and a woofer amp. |

I really could care less about Logic7, I just want a new head unit and a better sound. I assume this means that I need to get a new amp as well.
