in my options list or is it standard ? HILL HOLD ASSIST do you know if this is a standard feature, its a 2012 November model...

Yes it is standard. I kind of stumbled across it In all honesty but it is quite useful in certain situations.

Hill hold? Its good and bad until you get used to it!!

I have it on my Octavia L&K ( a bit like BMW Luxury model etc).

What happens is - on a gradient you come off the brake but it holds you for 2 or so seconds automatically

So good - you wont roll back etc

Bad - until you get used to it, you'll get a hell of a shock if you try to make a rash start at an uphill T juction with fast oncoming traffic.
