This car is so FREAKING fun to drive!

Okay I know I'm an idiot but I can't help it I've never had a car that's this much fun to drive! I've been freakishly in love with driving that I even considered non-sport automatic vehicles fun to drive just because I liked driving.

But DAMN this car is so freaking fun to drive. The balance; the steering; the brakes; the power (it's not mind-blowing but it's plenty if you want to have fun) and just the simple feeling you get when driving this car hard is just incredible. I've never liked having 4 doors but once I really started driving it's completely forgotten about because it simply does not feel like it has 4 doors! And since I'm shifting way better now I can accelerate hard while shifting smoothly at the same time, it feels absolutely incredible to execute a perfectly smooth shift.

I look for each and every excuse to give myself just to take it out for a spin around the block, and if I indeed do get the chance to open up a little I usually wind up stepping out of the car with a fat grin on my face. It's quite unbelieveable how stupid I am grinning non-stop like a fat kid with a bag full of chocolate, but it's just an enormously satisfying sensation.

GOD! I'm such an idiot, raving about a new toy like a little kid.

Oh forgot to add, the shifter was quite notchy and rubbery when new, but after 2700 miles they are incredibly precise to use, making every shift a pure joy, going from gate to gate lacks the mechanical feeling of Honda manuals but that's exactly why it's so good. It's precise AND smooth!

I totally agree. I was just telling my friend how much I love the sound of the engine when it revs high. In fact, once I subconsciously pressed the volume up button on the steering wheel cause I was wishing I could hear the engine better.
What I've been trying to achieve lately is a balance in aggressive AND conservative driving styles. Like being quick, but at the same time trying to maintain a good avg. mpg.

It's no wonder I have 6000 miles in about 10 weeks now.

Roll down all your windows and your moon roof. Who cares if you get horrible MPG? You can hear that inline six a lot better.

But then I'd be worried about all that dust entering the car!

I had exactly the same feeling when I bought my E36 325i coupe in 1994

I absolutely agree!

The only thing that bugs me when driving is road bumps and potholes, which are quite harsh with ZSP. I'm sure you have better roads in CA than I have here in Boston (almost a safe bet for Boston vs anywhere).

I enjoy my e90 more and more everyday. What a fantastic car. If there darn thing got 10 more miles to the gallon it would be close to the "perfect car" for my needs. Rock on!

If you think ZSP is harsh, try taking a 600 mile roundtrip ride in a G35 coupe on the stock 19’s! I did that this weekend and it was backbreaking. I love the G, but it’s horrendous for long distance driving. After I got back from the trip, I jumped into my 330i, and took it for a quick spin around some curvy roads. I was so impressed with how well the car soaked up the bumps while giving me better handling performance than the G. Props to BMW for creating these incredible cars!!!

Mine is doing the same thing. In the begining I was like "oh-oh" but now I am noticing that it is much smoother and easier to work and therefore much more fun.

As I always say there is little that is much sweeter to a manual driver than the perfectly changed gear.

Is she dancing or walking on a treadmill? Is there a fan blowing her hair? What is she looking at when she glances slightly to her left? Are they real or fake? These are the questions that make the Mona Lisa smile mystery pale by comparison.
