Squeaky wipers
Anyone else got this problem, makes a good racket when they lower down to park near the base of the windscreen, and more often than not makes a racket whilst wiping. Any suggestions? This sort of thing does my nut in..

Does it sound like it's coming from the wiper in contact with the windscreen? (as opposed to the wiper arm assembly), maybe need to give your windscreen a good polish, they are discussing rain x on here today, some of that may help

Totally new, and sealed with Nanolex Ultra glass sealant (car is 3 days old). So it's not the screen. The sound on the down stroke might be that the wipers need adjusting, but the squeak from the blades is the main issue.. Might just be a duff set of blades, was just wondering if anyone else is having the same issues.

Two F30s I've driven have had this problem, although my own, thankfully, does not. I'd get the dealer to look at it - sounds like a misalignment problem somewhere.

I have a brand new one also and have the same issue. I think it's one of those things I'll learn to live with. |

I've never replaced blades for noise, unless worn out after years of use. If ever the wipers start making sound I clean the screen and wipers with white vinegar in water, and they return to silence. In my experience new cars often make wiper noise or leave smearing, and it is contamination of some kind, usually polishes getting onto the screen or blades. HighlandPete |
