4 Series

Why is there is a HUGE cavernous space between the hood edge and the windshield. This area was 4 inches deep of leaves and pine needles at one of the dealerships. Why couldn't BMW design this differently for a more tailored refined look? This large gap also housed a little pool of water in each? You can also see all the mechanics of the wiper blades. The gap on my S4 is about 1 inch and after 3 years I have never picked leaves from it. And yes this is nitpicking to the extreme

2.) Why is the Msport front bumper so open to the elements, rocks, sticks etc. Standing directly in front of one all you see is the white/silver radiators for the engine and turbo cooler. It looks just like a big hollow space with the radiators in the back ground. I wouldn't mind so much if the radiators were painted black.

I have to say I'm not totally impressed with BMW's design team.

So does that mean you won't be taking delivery of your ordered car?

That's the first time I've heard people complain about those things.

I was about to say the same. Plus, the MSport front is excellent.

We all do. At this level it really comes down to nit-picking.

No car is perfect in my opinion. I do like the Msport look but would prefer some minor changes, like more screening in the bumper to hide the radiators and to prevent rocks and stones from possibly damaging them and leaves gathering up in there.

Out of curiosity why didn't you go for the 435 since you are coming from an S4? Also if you don't mind me asking what was your lease deal if you are leasing or how much did you get off. Just trying to compare to what I did, not a lot of people with 4's yet. You can PM me if you are willing to tell me and want to keep it private.

Thanks

I have sworn off BMW's 3.0 turbos, had a terrible time with my 2008 E92 335i. Posted many times about it on multiple forums. I've found that modern 4 cylinders are more entertaining by the sole fact that you can and have to drive them harder. I also think they are more neutrally balanced and provide a better ride. Neutral balance is way underrated. Better mpg is always accepted too. Sorry I'm purchasing so no lease info.

Can you please share your design portfolio with us as well? Actual production work isn't necessary, conceptual work is fine.

Or that he's disappointed in the design, but no car is perfect so its forgiven.

Leaves made it into the E9X engine compartment just as much. It's not just the F-Series.
