Plastic carpet? Like the All-weather mats? That shouldn't be hard to clean and get rid of the odor I'd think unless you mean something else. If it's a regular carpet then I'd clean it with your choice of carpet cleaner () and if it still has an odor you could put some baking powder over it and leave it over it for a bit then vacuum it off.

In big pet store chains they sell stuff called "Simple Solution" (white and red container). It was the only thing that saved our puppy from "going to a farm" before he was housebroken. It smells good like Downey fabric softener, doesn't harm fabric or upholstry and takes the pee stain and smell right out.

bad dog

I visited this topic (in the house that is) before adopting my dog 5 years ago. What I found was that something with enzymes was needed, so that the dog would not go in the same place (designed for carpet). You can buy that in a pet store. Hopefully that's all your dog did....I've followed dog forums where unfortunately a dog went on nice leather furniture, and usually the poster could not get the smell out...the answer was usually to get rid of the furniture...g/l.
