Funky mechanical noise when you open the door.
Sometimes when I open my car door (when the car hasn't been run in a while) the car makes a hissing electronic noise for about 2-3 seconds.
I think it's normal as my e70 and e60 do the same thing. Anybody know what the car is doing? Some sort of engine prep? Thanks

Did some google searching and looks like it could be the fuel pump priming?
Some people also mentioned SMG adjusting the pressure... Obviously we don't have SMG in our f30s though. Any ideas guys? Didn't see anything the owners manual. |

It is the fuel pump priming. The last update I got for my e90 to fix fuel pump (never happened again btw) made it prime the fuel pump before I started it. I'm used to it now but at first it was a bit surprising. All of these cars make strange sounds at completely random times. My wife says the car is possessed.

It's one of the car systems, not to sure which one, I think the fuel pump prepping itself. This occurs usually when you open up the drivers door, the car thinks you will end up jumping in the car and driving. Just a Germany engineered car being awesome, as usual
