I have the same problem, I am thinking about getting the OEM CF grill instead of the one that I bought on EBAY, and I think its the Cali sun that is doing it

thats what happens when the carbon fiber isnt made properly. Over time they will start to bubble up. Usually happens when the temp is too hot. Some will be fine and some will look like the one in the pic. FYI stay away from wet carbon fiber if its in the engine bay the heat will make the CF bubble up in a short time. Not saying wet carbon is bad but when it comes to engine parts you want to use dry carbon. If you look at most JDM engine covers they are only made in dry carbon. Dry carbon will never bubble up or fade in color from the high heat. Hence why dry carbon cost more

that's not going to help, this, as said by cyba, is due to improperly made cf. The laminate (or resin) on top of the CF is not bonding to the CF properly, I'm afraid it's going to get worse over time

Carbonfiber fabric itself, there's not much of difference.

I think it's the cheap clear coat painted on the grill.

Just take it to the close body shop, they will sand the clear coat on there and redo it for you.

That's what my friend did on his CF hood.
