New 330d X-Drive m-sport
Hi all new to this forum.
I previously had a Jaguar XF which was by far the best car I have had and was a lot better than my previous BMW 3 (thought that was a 318i and not a 6 cylinder like the Jag). I usually like to change cars and don't often stick with the same brand and as much as I would have loved to have another XF I really wanted to have 4wd as the rwd isn't great in the snow. Anyway I didn't know what to go for but did fancy a Range Rover Evoque but would have rather waited until it had its 9 speed gearbox. Next up was an Audi but was unsure which model. I had a look at the A4 and the A5. I wasn't convinced though the A5 Coupe is nice. I then test drove an A7 black edition as the dealer said he could do a great deal on one. This was nice to drive but was only the 204bhp and that was lower bhp than what I was used to with the Jag. I did also find that when I got back in the Jag to drive home I thought it was better to drive than the A7. The A7 is also a very long car but it didn't have a rear view camera which I am now used to having for reversing. I also feel that sometimes a long car sticks out of many parking spaces e.g. in a multi storey. I did consider getting the A7 but there was something stopping me from doing it. I then test drove a BMW 3 F30 which was a manual 320d but I did want to stick to an automatic. I had previously been in the m-sport in the dealership and it felt good to sit in with a great driving position and steering wheel. So let go through what I wanted from the car. 1. x-drive for better grip in the winter 2. 330d which has a lot of power and is still economical 3. m-sport as this looks great So ended up with an F30 330d x-drive m-sport estoril blue Pro nav visibility pack heated front seats split rear seats rear reversing camera electric front seats sports auto gear box seal and protect tyre and alloy insurance service inclusive Yes I do wish I had opted for the HK audio but never mind The car does look and drive great! Right decision? Probably! |

This post could have been written by me! All apart from the Audi interest that is...
I loved my XF and thought I wouldn't drive a better car. Mine was one of the first after launch and unfortunately I think the face lifted version has watered down the looks too much. The one minor thing I miss, which bugs the hell out of me in my 335 is the fact that in sport manual mode the gearbox cannot be put back in to 'auto' by holding the up shift paddle for a few seconds. Instead you have to flick the level back to normal and back again to sport. If anyone figures out a better way please let me know!!

Congratulations. Great colour and lovely wheels. You'll have a smooth ride.
Now the bit you don't wish to hear and I really should not say. On xDrive cars I prefer 19" wheels. The 18" look very lost in the larger gap in wheel arches.
