X5 V8 delivery
I called and they said that it is scheduled to be handed over to my dealer on the 6th of November. Is it possible that the hold on the V8s are no longer? Anyone get their V8 in the US?

I am curious what time of day you called. I called this morning. Mine still had no ship date or estimated delivery to the dealer. If you got this info later in the day, maybe I should call again.

I just called BMWUSA and said that they are receiving a software update tomorrow 11/5, and that it will be applied on 11/6. Hopefully that means the X5 50i models will be released soon.
Doing PCD - so hoping we can schedule our delivery in the next couple weeks! |

I wonder how long it takes to do the software update and how many they have to do?

^ Above how many do they have to do? Number 000 was production dated 8.15 whereas as of 10.31 the number is 800. I believe these are all North America. Now some may have been shipped.

This morning when I called, there were no shipping dates showing for my 9/24 build. It now says, 11/18 ship w/ 11/21 estimated delivery. Knowing others completion dates and estimated deliveries before mine, I couldn't be more annoyed with bmw.

Called again and it seemed like car was supposed to be on truck today to the dealer but for some reason it doesn't show that it went. Wondering if it's being held up.
The waiting really SUCKS! |

Me too. Production was finished on 10/24 and the only updates I can get is that it says "released to trucking company" as of about 10/30. Nothing new since.

Order Canceled
Subsequent to receiving an October 24 delivery date that has come and gone, BMW has done a poor job of communicating in this matter. They just lost my business.

I called to check on my car again today. It still says shipping 11–18 estimated delivery 11–21. I did get a little more information than I did previously. I know we've already heard about a software update. Apparently the software update is related to an oil service light that incorrectly comes on after driving just a few thousand miles. My customer service rep was reading from an email that said it affected about 2000 vehicles. I believe she said the updates were starting either yesterday or today. Anyone else get similar information?
