E92 M3 vs 435
I am about to sell my E92 M3 for an Estoril Blue 435 m sport with coral red. Anybody else done the same, with any regrets?
I test drove the 435 and although it does not have the raw power of the M3, it is not lacking in power. I was disappointed that the 435 does not come with DCT. I had a 135 with DCT and that gearbox was more fun. Attached are photo of my M3 and the 435 |

Why, it is a 2008 M3. I love the car, but I feel it is outdated and no point in waiting for M4 cos it will priced over my budget

We all must move on. I've moved on from M3's on five separate occasions. It is what it is. For the most part you'll find those who have never owned an M3 claiming that you shouldn't do it, but as seen here in plenty of examples, M3 owners move on.

You'll like the increased mpg and midrage torque and updated features/interior. If you want to bump up the power to M3 levels, slap on a JB4, E85, Downpipe and it'll be just as fast or faster than the M3.
The DCT is the real loss and it's a shame you can't get it on them right now. Unless you're tracking it, you probably won't notice much loss in handling either. |

I am very worried that I am making a mistake and will hate myself for letting go of the M3, but I think it is time to let go. It is out of warranty and I have to sell latest next year. I thought it would be nice to drive the latest and "best" coupe while there is still all this hype

Given that you had the N54 on your 135, I'd wager you'd probably know better than most the compromises. F3x is definitely a more practical and livable daily driver, especially if you are into tech gizmos and have any kind of sizable daily commute. The ZF8 should give you about 80% of the performance you're used to with the DCT, compared to maybe 40% in the E9x 6AT. You will be able to slap an M performance LSD onto the 4 series, which will further bridge the performance gap. But nothing will rev or sound like that V8. Not sure how expensive gas is for you...

Any time!!!! .....and if you want some in-depth analyses, feel free to shoot me a P/M.
Just for shits and giggles I ran the shit out of my stock 335i the other night (..was on my way to the gas station so I figured I'd have fun with the remaining gas in the tank). I pulled up to that gas station with my brakes hissing, my exhaust smellin'......and a smile on my face. I really want a tune. |

I went from an '08 E92 M3 to an F30 for the same reasons. I got the M3 used, so it didn't have every single option I wanted, plus the first gen iDrive was almost unusable. I miss the sound and top end power, but it's nice to get into something new with better tech and all the options I want.

A really interesting read. From the UK. I went from E46 M3 to F30 335i M Sport. I do miss the sheer power but it was time to move on. I have no regrets and love it. Each to their own preferences. The superman combo is a love it or hate it though. Enjoy!

Yeah, my last car was an E46 M3 and I don't regret the 335i. The new ///M will be out of my price preference so I've moved on as well.

The only thing you will regret is the colour combination you are thinking of going
