Bought my v3's from **********s.
I will be getting them put in this monday on my xi, and hearing that its a bitch to adjust the compression and the rebound after they are on the car i'd like to set these babies up for life. I don't track the car, its my DD, however i drive rather spiritedly. I would like to have the handling of the sports package equipped cars Can you post your settings? Do you guys tinker primarily with the rebound (leaving compression the way it came in)? thanx all

The shocks are not preset - you need to follow the instructions that are enclosed with them. If you have the latest models - they click as you turn the hex screw. The previous version had no clicks - you had count the number of turns.

my shop did not touch anything but ride height. i called KW directly and they confirmed that the shocks were already set to a factory default requiring no adjustment for the factory recommended settings.

went with the factory settings provided in the book.
after driving around for about an hour is a variety conditions i can definitely say they are so much better then the PSS9's i have on my S4. All float is gone-Car feels very tight in turn ins and over rough patches on the highway going 100 ;-) The bump is very stockish. Def. worth the 2k.

Factory setting is fine for street use. If tracking you would want to increase the compression/rebound settings for a firmer ride.

The new Variant 3 is state-of-the-art technology for the skilled and experienced driver. The separate and independent compression and rebound damping options allow a truly individual driving set-up. These unique systems with the 3 individually adjustable components, allows for adjustment of the compression of the damper in the low-speed range, while the highspeed set-up, so decisive for driving comfort, has been preset by our engineers. |

The V3 is more than what most people can handle, but it does provide a great wide variety of adjustments. I think the V2s are the best bang for the buck, but most of the time, or some of the time, V3s are the only thing that is offered for your car.
At least you know you will be getting one of the bests! -Don |
