In need for tranny rebuild
So the gears have been slipping more often lately. I have a 2008 335xi auto n54. Ever since the gears were slipping, i drove on steptronic and manually shifted gears. but lately the transmission slipped twice this past week. What are my options on rebuilding the transmission? And what would be a fair price to pay for the tranny rebuild? I was quoted about 4000 months back. I just want to confirm if the price is right.

Car-Part.com and find a good used transmission. You can get a low mileage transmission for around $1500.

I know a lot of people who have used this to find used transmissions. Labor is up in the air because if you can't do it yourself you are stuck looking for a local shop to do the work.
