How to remove steering wheel paddle shifters?

Does anybody know how to remove the paddle shifters on the m sport wheel?

Do they just pop out?

I have some M6 ones I want to try and swap out.

Looks like I have to remove the airbag.

interesting. I would definitely change the paddles in the future if there's an easier alternative way.
