Do I need my oil changed?

I bought my car pre-owned in may. they said the oil was changed before i drove home with it. i just see now on the computer that the car tells me i need an oil change. is it possible that they did change the oil but forgot to reprogram the computer?? How can i find out if they did change it or not?

Did yo buy it from a BMW dealer? If not I would get it changed since you have no idea what kind of an oil is in your car.

How much for an oil change? If its not too much get the oil changed so you sleep better at night.

If bought from a BMW dealer and its CPO I would go back to the dealer and request the oil change. Mention it was supposed to happen but got missed on delivery. Point to the computer as proof. Doesn't hurt to ask nicely.
