2014 X5 and Apple iPhone Integration

What is the latest on iPhone integration with 2014 X5s? I thought BMW said that the 2014 x5 would have Siri Eyes Free Integration? Any pointers to info on this?

What about BMW Apps? BMW Connect? Hotspot in car? etc?

Thanks,
Pesh

The x5 only added the new controller, everything else remains the same.

No Siri support.

You can also get a snap in adapter and connected drive. Not sure if that was available on the E70 but I didn't think it was. Could be wrong

You mean iPhone 5/5S snap in adapter or iPhone 4/4S like the previous snap in adapters for the F15?

All that stuff was available for the e70.

There are more options and settings in idrive 4.2 ....but please bear in mind idrive 4.2 is merely a incremental update

Next gen idrive is still 12 months away.

iPhone integration

Took delivery of my wife's 2014 X5 today.
Siri access is a yes. Press and hold the steering wheel voice command button and Siri responds. If you press and don't hold you will access built in BMW system.

Text and Email
On my 2013 7, I have text and email working. I'm planning on seeing if the same procedure will work on the 14 X5. Will report back yes or no. If yes I will get back with the setup details.

Waygol,

Did you get BMW Apps as well? If so, can you confirm if it has Stitcher App? Thanks.

Ok text and email work. There is a trick to email, I will send you link I posted awhile ago on apple. I have not tried this with IOS 7. I am on IOS 6.0.1. Have not upgraded as I'm not sure if I will loose functionality of text and email. My wife's phone is on IOS 7 and I will test that all reply with results.

3 steps to get Text and Emails to show up automatically on BMW screen

1.You should upgrade software in your vehicle if it's not the latest version for your vehicle.

2. Read this post, helpful information regarding pairing your iphone for working with office.

3. My post on apple for email work around

Waygol,

Awesome! Thanks!

Z.

BTW, you're not using a BMW Snap Adapter, right? You're just connecting via BT or USB cable?
