Is this the real deal?? Aero Lip...
Hi Guys,
Found this auction on ebay and i'm just wondering if it's the same thing as the Oem Aero Lip... I honestly have no idea what they are made of and this one says Urethane. Is that the same as Oem? Is it a reasonable price? Any info on what you guys think would be aprreciated. Here's the link : http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...180085824&rd=1 |

I know it's not Oem but i was wondering if the materials used essentially are the same... So your saying that someone had reported that this lip doesn't sit flush with the edge of the bumper... Maybe i should email the seller and see what he has to say... |

yeah, both sides by the wheel wells don't reach the wheel wells... they're about half inch short on both sides. This is what i've heard, i have the authentic OEM lip so i can't say for sure. I have seen pics on this forum of it tho, i would search around if i were u.

Here is the seller's reply :
"Our vendor made the bumper lip from the original OEM BMW bumper lip that they are selling in the dealer, and I believe the OEM bumper lip was made a little shorter, that is why some buyers has that concern, but the mold the manufacture made is from the original BMW bumper lip. After you get the bumper lip painted, you hardly can tell the difference. " Don't really know what to make of it... |

I know LongTran does great things... I bought the painted reflectors from him. But this ebay listing is 190$ versus 475$ by Longtran. Longtran's is painted at that price. But i can get this lip painted and installed locally for 100$. So it's still 290$ versus 475$. If it was a few $$ difference i wouldn't think twice about going with Longtran , but were talking about almost a 200$ difference... |

ebay = rolling dice unless you know someone who has bought from that vendor before. If you want to be the first, go for it. I'd rather not. Besides, it is very rare that something beats OEM.

oem is made of plastic which is lighter and more bendable. urethane tends to make your bumper sag because of the extra weight. Plus, later when you do decide to sell, oem will sell alot better on the forums.

I bought this lip since the shop was not too far from home. I am getting it painted now and will let you guys know how it works out. I have the same concerns as everyone however youyou is right, it's a $200 difference. The other reason that swayed me to get this is this company does a ton of business online. I strongly doubt some company would put their rep on the line of the product wasn't at least somewhat acceptable.

before i bought my oem lip. i went thru seller's feedback and e-mail some of his previous buyer and ask them the fitment. as some has said it was a little bit short.
i went ahead and get the better of the two since it's going onto my car!!! highly recomend u to do the same...
