F32 Visibility Not Great

I finally had a chance to test drive the 428i coupe, and while I was impressed with the handling and overall performance, the visibility was definitely lacking when compared to my 335i coupe. The greenhouse of the F32 all the way around is diminished vs. the previous generation. Makes the driving and viewing experience feel more confined. Disappointing.

I agree completely. I feel like the F32 is "fastback" style, and I'm not a fan of that look (..and the lack of visibility). That's also the primary reason that I'm passing on the M3 coupe and opting for the sedan instead.

Yes, I too would choose the M3 sedan over the M4 coupe, largely due to my concerns about visibility.

I did not experience any visibility issues with the F32 that I test drove. However, I am E92 driver, so that may make a difference.

My most recent car prior to the '13 X5 and my '14 335i was an '11.5 M3 coupe. The E92 has better visibility than the F32 IMHO.

Confinement and the lack rearward visibility are not mutually inclusive.

it's even worse in a 2 door, 2 seater...i could barely see anything at all out of the slits they called "windows" in my old 370z Roadster

You would think you'd have more visibility due to less metal being used for pesky doors and pillars.

You'd think, but that isn't the case however.

In my test drive it seemed ok, but im 6'5'' and can generally see the ends of the cars lines pretty easily ...I wouldn't say its any different than an e92.

Although i've never driven a f30 335i, i've owned/driven both the e46 m3 and the e92 coupe, and can't say the 4 had blindspots worse than the aforementioned cars. the only thing that i noticed is the 4's hoodline obscures where the front of the car ends.. but that should go away once i've gotten used to it (also i have pdc so nbd).

I can see great out of both of my 2 door 2 seaters... well, the Miata only if the top is down, which it always is.

Crash standards are raising door sills and making pillars thicker to hold more airbags. The older the car, the better the visibility. Makes sense that the 4er, with more slope to the c-pillar, will have worse visibility.

That is what the back up camera is for :-) Plus if you have Navi and back up camera, you can code the camera so you can turn it on while the vehicle is in any gear or even moving.

+1 The outgoing 328i/335i coupes offered awesome visibility with no compromise in sports car snugness.

On the f10 yes, but on the f30 you can only code the side cameras to work at all speeds

But now my back up camera will work up to around 25 mph for some reason
