K&N drop in filter change

hey has anybody else here replaced their stock filter with a K&N filter (part# 33-2332) yet on their E90?..I just did it today and I noticed when i seperated the airbox that there are actually 2 filters inside..One paper element that you take out and replace and one that's built into the housing assembly..looks like a secondary filter to protect the MAF???..Anyways I cant help but wonder how restrictive 2 filters are to this engine???

Ohhhh that is a sweet sound, especially with intake and going through a tunnel.

But I'll tell ya even though i've always loved How Hondas sounded (DOHC VTEC's specifically), BMW inline sixes with a nice exhaust always sounded awesome in my opinion..I can now hear that sound even more with the K&N drop in with the silencer duct removed..
Kinda reminds me of an E36 M3 with a nice throaty exhaust.

Do you think the same filter will work on the 330i? I like the K&N filters alot. I have the out of box in my maxima, drop in filter for the Envoy and now I think I will get the drop in for the 330i. I know that the drop in really doesn't affect the sound as much as the out of box. I will probably have to special order it. Did you notice any gains in gas mileage?

Is the filter good enough to filter out dirt in the air?

according to K&N it is the same part # for the 325i/330i here in the USA...As far as gas mileage is concerned it sucked before and now that i've changed to the K&N i've noticed that the gas mileage has actually improved to SUCKS!
