Its like the Miss World pagent. Its not just about big boobs and a great ass........although that all I care about
So its the same thing with my bimmer. I luv it and there is no way I would buy a civic over an E90.....no matter what MotorTrend says!

You could buy THREE of these for what a loaded 330i costs.

But the title doesn't say best value car of the year. It just says car of the year. I have owned Honda and I love them but car of the year.

Well clearly it may not say in the title "Best Value Car of the Year" but I'm sure the quality of build, reliability, and PRICE had a lot to do in Motor Trends decision. A BMW may be better than a Honda in some factors, but average Joe more than likely can not afford a BMW like they could a Honda.

if you refer to the new Civic, this car hasn't been started on sale for most parts of the world. And how would it be car of the year when no one has bought one yet !?

I've seen several around here for the past ~2 months. The sedan is all squished-in and ugly.

The Si does have alot going for it, I suppose. At least they put a LSD in it. Now they have bring out the RSX Type R because who wants a Type S with the Si buzzing around.

You have to consider the source. Motor Trend is not Automobile. Hell, it's not even Road and Track or Car and Driver. Its audience is more likely to be in the market for a Civic than a BMW.

nrg09 said in part, "...I'm sure the quality of build, reliability, and PRICE had a lot to do in Motor Trends decision."
__________________________________________________ __It is possible, of course, that your assumption is correct. However, as the inscription on the National Archives building in D. C. reads, "What is Past is Prologue". There is considerable evidence to support the widely held belief that Motor Trend relies heavily on advertising revenues in reaching it's conclusions with respect to vehicle attributes in comparison with other vehicles. Nonetheless, the advertising revenues argument could be said about a lot of car mags. Truth be told, we'll never know how really biased a car mag's road test may be. |

I'm sure Motor Trend's journalistic integrity is intact. They wouldn't print it if it wasn't true, right?? At least that's what I heard on Fox News.....

Maybe the SI is a fun car to drive..I mean .90g on stock tires, tight shifting, good seats, cool ergos, 8000rpm, I can see why these people liked the car.
Now does it have "intangibles" that make us choose our brand? No, but they're only talking about the CAR, not the sex appeal nor the status nor anything else. Heck I'd buy an Si if it were just for the fun factor, but that's not all I need from a car.
