vorsteiner vented hood on AW

what do you guys think?
i'm thinking about getting this one. my body shop said they will cover half of this and i pay the other half, so 400 for this hood. i'm thinking about just getting the DWVP no cf and painting it the same way. YAY or NAY?

also would u suggest painting the whole thing white even the vents?

NO way would I ever paint those CF vents. The CF is a nice detail that gives uniqueness to this hood.

Was that your choice? I believe you can still get the plastic hood with the CF vents.

If you paint the vents white, the black air intake on the driver's side will show as more of a black contrast underneath.

well i'm thinking about getting ti Dry vacuumed Woven Plastic, because it's cheaper. don't have the extra money for the cf @ this point.

do you know if the vents are already painted black or they are primed?

I don't know, I actually think painting the vents white might look kind of cool. I guess it really depends on the quality of the paint job. It would certainly be unique.

Why would you get closed vents? Aren't they there to let out some of the engine bay heat?

White with black vents looks AMAZING imo. I love contrast, especially if you complete it with black front grills and wheels.

I don't think it is that much more expensive to get the plastic hood with CF vents, but then agian I'm not sure. I am actually thinking about doing this myself on my AW 335 sedan. I saw ksfrogman's car at a recent pasadena meet and I was very impressed with how it looked in person. If you don't go with the CF vents, then definitely keep the vents black in my opinion. A previous post mentioned keeping the vents closed, but I would talk to ksfrogman before because he has his open and I remembered him mentioning that he hasn't had any problems even when washing the car. GOOD LUCk!

I'd paint them black or leave it unpainted if your hood is CF. I agree with painting your roof black to accentuate the naked carbon on your hood. I am more confused about what I am going to do with my CF trunk when I get it.
