Email and Texts
I just had my software updated to latest version thinking it would fix the issue with recieving emal and texts through iDrive. No such luck.
Does anyone have this working? BMW is even advertising this in all their 3 Series commercials. I'd appriciate tips on what I'm missing.

SMS / text works just fine for me (using Samsung Galasxy S4)

It worked a year ago, however the last 2 software updates seem to have disabled the feature. I switched the software back to the older one, but that one also doesn't support it via iOS7. so basically we have no text messages.
FWIW on older version you needed to turn on notifications for messages within the iPhone notification center to make them Alert style messages that show on lock screen.

I used iPhone 5 no issues at all with SMS, can't get emails though

My SMS / iMessages show up fine. I'm on iOS 7 with a 5S. Maybe make sure notifications is enabled under Bluetooth device?

Upgraded to newest version software.
I could not see email and SMS via Idrive with old version but t works fine for me now. BTW, my phone is Samsung Note 2.

I found another anomaly with receiving email via idrive. If the mail app is closed before pairing with the car it won't work (My2012 M3). Kudos to Apple and BMW. Also, here's a demo of closing apps on the iPhone with IOS 7.

Followed skypx's advice and now my emails and iMessages/SMS show up. But both show up under messages, emails don't come under the icon with the @ logo. Using an iPhone 5 running iOS 7

Amazing. I can't get messages or emails to show. I have the iPhone 5 with IOS7. I've tried every setting I can think of. I'd appriciate any other tips.
