Seat Belt Warning Buzzer

Does anyone know of a way, warranty friendly or not, to disable the seat belt warning buzzer. Please don't give me grief about safety.

I know there is a dencet size plug under your seat. You could disconnect it as a whole but your power seats wont work or you can try to figure out which wire it is

Here's an idea and possible not the best fix but worth a try.

Try changing the country setting to UK (in iDrive or through radio Config menu). I think this may stop the seat belt chimes. However you MPG will be based on Imperial and not US gallons.

yeah, its simple. extend the seatbelt across your torso and put the latch plate into the buckle. not only will it stop the unwanted noise, it will keep you firmly planted when someone runs into you going who knows how fast(it is always the other guys fault you know), allowing the plethora of airbags to actually do their job.

Very valid point. I would just love it if it didnt go off immediatley after starting the engine.

I never drive anywhere without my seatbelt, but puttering around a shopping mall parking lot, I don't need to hear the stupid chime forever if I happened to remove my seat belt before finding a space. This happens occasionally and its just ridiculous that the car won't shut up until you buckle up.

I mean you will not hear a peep from me on why I should wear a seat belt but I really think it should be up to the person to do it. The car shouldn't drive you to the point of insanity to make you do it. I have little sympathy for the lives lost of people who didn't buckle up. Darwin Awards and all, you know?

My seatbelt reminder only chimes after about 30 or so seconds of driving over 30km/h.

It would appear that the answer is no. For the few people that actually tried to help, I offer my thanks.

the issue is that sometimes you're sitting in the car getting settled -- maybe you're in a gas line and you want to reach into the glove box; or you're moving the car from one spot in a parking lot to another; moving it out of the garage into the driveway.

the car is smart enough to wait until i'm driving before doing the automatic locks, it should be smart enough to do the same for seat belts.

Maybe the car is telling you to put on your seat belts?

I second that motion. Most all of us always wear safety belts. We don't need an annoying chime to remind us of what we already know. Might as well have a recording of your mom saying "okay son, don't forget to wear your safety belt, and drive safely now...."

Yes we ALL know you SHOULD wear it and most of us DO, however it is @#$#@$ ANNOYING, and when you are in and out of the car a lot running errands or dropping someone off and picking them up it is HORRIBLE.

I don't know about cutting my back buckles though it's not that serious LOL!

actually, what's even more annoying is the stupid chime that comes on because the temp is below 37F.

why don't they just have voice activation say "it's cold outside, sonny, so put on your mittens."
