Question for PIAA or LUX Angel Eye LED owners

Just a quick question for anyone with LED angel eye bulbs installed. Do the LEDS fade on and off as the stock bulbs? Or do they go instant on/off?

Thanks in advance.

It's hard to tell. I have lux, but it is hard to see them come on or off, considering I'm in the car when I turn them on or off

The flickering is normal. Basically your car sent a small current to check all electrical system and that current was enough to coz the LED bulbs to flicker. Actually my whole front end would light up and flicker since I have LUX4, LED turn signals and LED side markers.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I think all LED's are instant on and off and do not fade, so I would say that is normal if they come right on and go right off and do not fade on and off.

LEDs flicker on because they have less resistance than regular bulbs

Everyone is actually wrong - partly

depending on the options you have for the car and depending on the year, certain front lighting will slowly fade on, versus turning on instantly. If you have this option, then any LED angel eye kit will also fade on, but it will happen much quicker.

They fade because the voltage or amperage starts low and then reaches it full power - therefor the LED doesnt come to full brightness till it is fully powered. ( there is also the power driver, but thats a different story)

Thanks to everyone for the information. I have LED angel eyes but have not installed them yet. I was hoping to maintain the fade in/out when I unlock my car because it looks so cool! Sounds like I might be in luck still!

Thanks for the confirmation! I wanted to do the LED interior bulbs too. I am thinking that the fade in/out will be maintained as well!

How much is the PIAA LEDs compared to LUX? Which would you prefer? Pros and Cons?

Thanks

The Lux system is more than the PIAA LED's but the Lux system also runs much brighter and is its setup with a fan, etc.

Your angel eyes come on when you lock/unlock the car? Mine doesn't do that, is there a setting for this?
