Snowperformance N54 kit vs Aquamist HFS-4

I have been looking at purchasing a meth kit and from reading the forums it seems that Aquamist is highly recommended for non piggyback tunes. I'm running Cobb and will be getting PTF to do a protune map. I saw that Snowperformance has a kit designed for the n54 and wanted to see if anyone has any experience with this kit. I will not be using e85 with this tune so it will be straight 93 octane. Thanks

I cannot comment on the Snow Performance kit, but I feel pretty comfortable saying that Aquamist is the safest, best thought out meth system available for the N54. If you’re running flash only and cannot integrate the meth with the tune, it’s even more of a clear cut best solution. HFS’ injector duty cycle system beats the crap out of meth systems that just spray based on imaginary boost targets, and its’ failsafe is pretty foolproof since I dumps boost if it senses insufficient flow or low fluid levels. So Snow Performance may make a nice product, but it’s Aquamist FTW in my opinion.

It took me quite some time to choose the right meth kit for my car and I am really glad I have gone with the Aquamist HFS-4 kit. I have not had a single issue with it since it was installed. I love the two gallon Howerton trunk mounted at as well with the pump and level sensor all integrated into one. A friend of mine had the Snow Performance kit and also had it switched to the Aquamist HFS-4 as he had it leak and lose prime many times. He lost it at the track last time he came with me as it just wouldn't flow again, leaked again at the fittings and said screw it, ditching it for Aquamist.

Really there are no kits "Designed" for the N54. They are all universal systems. The snow N54 system is still just their stage 3 universal kit but with the N54 tag for search purposes.

That being said you can't go wrong with the Aquamist kit. The other kits are all very similar. Devils Own, Coolingmist, Snow, Alcohol Injection Systems ETC

One of the biggest pitfalls of the basic methanol kits (non aquamist) are the fittings. If you get the basic methanol kits and upgrade all your fittings and lines you can avoid a lot of problems. However, you still won't get the electronics that the Aquamist HFS-4 would offer.

Good point- the Howerton tank is pretty awesome. Good build quality, no sloshing around, looks nice, etc.

This. Push in fittings FTL. I was going to go the full SS line + AN fitting route, but once I saw the quality of the Aquamist fittings I felt comfortable skipping that.

HFS-4.... Running for the past 2 months and came from PWM Vishnu setup and the HFS-4 is solid... Takes a bit to get setup and dialed in, but once you have everything setup correctly it's by far one of the best solutions out there.

I have the BMS kit and would love to replace the fittings if possible... Anyone have a link to a thread with a list of everything I need? The shop that installed mine said something about needing new o-rings near the solenoid anyways since it's a little loose so I figure it would be smart to just convert to SS lines and different fittings

I've had both kits. Had snow stage 3 kit. Nice kit and does work well. I had the Vishnu pwm kit and work great for a little while and then I had issues. Finally, have the aquamist hfs-4. All things considered, both kits are good but I'd give the hfs-4 the upper hand. Price on both kits are very close so of stick with aquamist.

Howerton Engineering has a lot of the lines and AN fittings that you'd want, but IDK how compatible they are with the existing BMS kit. There's a starting place though.

Meth noob Q. How does the HFS-4 failsafe dump boost if it can't be integrated into the Cobb?

It gets wired into the boost control solenoid circuit.

Well it looks like the Aquamist kit is the way to go. How difficult is it to setup after the installation? I have assisted a friend with a jb4 meth kit but that was easy cmpared to what I'm seeing in the instructions.
