Intake or Exhaust?

having to choose between the simota intake and ikon exhaust, which one would you rather get?

i would get the ikon first.

then again it's $550 (ikon) vs $350 (simota).

I'd rather get an exhaust over an intake.

Exhaust features:
Looks
Power
Sound

Intake features:
Power
Sound

No one looks at an intake unless you are popping your hood everywhere. Some people don't want the attention so I understand why they might not want an exhaust. I personally like the looks of exhausts and and I don't like the brushed aluminum tips on the 335i at all. Ideally I'd love both but if I had to pick, it would be the exhaust first.

i went with the gruppe m replica intake first, then got rid of it because of small fitment issues and the droning, then i just went with the IKON and k&n drop in filter and life's good!!

will the e90 one fit my e92 with no problems?

imho, on the e90, the ikon hangs a bit low. not sure on the e92.

should not have any issues with smog checks as it does not effect your emissions out put, just sound and flow.

ehhhwik fit the ikon onto his e92. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=63463

^ i believe on the coupe you need that extender piece (as seen in ehhhwik's pics). any exhaust shop should be easily able to do that.

the sedan should not need it. but i do recall one sedan having the extender piece and the exhaust did not sit right (stuck out too far).

i should be getting my ikon welded on this saturday.

where are you getting it done? after seeing that one picture of a shop that welded it incorrectly and the bumper getting melted, i'm a little scared of which shop to choose.

i'm planning to go to world mufflers in sunnyvale. two members have recommended the place (one was a kerscher quad set-up) and they have good reviews on review sites like yahoo. i'll let you know how it goes.

just make sure that the shop leave some space between the tips and the edge of the bumper so it doesnt melt it, because that thing is HOT!!

my exhaust was installed properly, but did need some welding on an extra small piece, but my bumper is fine!
