Anybody else having trouble finding comfortable seat position?

Couple of times I test drove, didn't have any problems. Now that my car's here I'm having a horrible time finding a position thats comfortable. Or if I do, it's only comfortable for that trip; when I get back in the car it's uncomfortable and I start it all over again. Sometimes I hate power seats ... infinite adjustability = infinite tinkering.

They make any changes to the seats during the september update?

Tips on proper seating position:
#1 Sit close enough were you can mash the brake pedal to the floor and still have knee that is slightly bent. I mean MASH the pedal to the floor pushing yourself into the back of the seat.

#2 Adjust the steering column and back rest to a point where you can lay both plams/wrists on top of the steering wheel. (FYI...contrary to what some of us older folks were taught...you should drive with hands and 9-3 not 10-2.

#3 The distance between your head and roof should be approx the width of your 1st three fingers..

That would only apply to an automatic. With a manual you should use the clutch as the test instead of the brake (which you will be putting to the floor alot). This means you will have to sit closer than if you just worried at the brake pedal.

I'm also having a problem finding a comfortable position. I've had the car for 2.5 weeks and I'm still playing with the seats although I have been noticing it is getting a little more comfortable. I'm not sure if the seats are getting a little broken in or I am just getting more used to it. I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that I drove the same kind of SUV since I got my license until this car and the way I sit in any car was based on the way I drove in my SUV. The BMW isn't set up like my old car so I have to adjust the entire way I drive.

Wow, that's sitting quite upright. Definitely a subjective criteria.

Which is the problem I'm having, not that the seats are moving around because of the seat memory. I get it nice and comfy in relation to the clutch, then the next time I get in I feel way too close to the dash but then if I move the seat back it's too far for me to comfortably put the clutch into the firewall.

Oh well, probably just because I've been driving automatics for the past couple of years.

The trick is to move the seat DOWN a little bit.

I felt exactly how you did...since I moved the seat down a bit...i don't feel so close - but then I can still get my feet to the clutch.

My seat is now approx 1/2 way (up and down) and the backrest is at a slight angle. The only time I don't like it is when some one moves it...and I have to find that sweet spot again (no elec seats
)

I don't have much trouble, and I commute 2 hours each day. I also use the cruise control most of the time, so the challenge is finding a comfortable position for my right leg. This car isn't bad for a low seat sports sedan. I've had worse!

Don't get me started.

I've been to the upholsterer twice to resculpt the seat with padding and need to go again.

E46 sport seats were the best!!!

I have no problems finding a comfortable seating position, infact, my problem is choosing which seating positions is best, there are so many adjustments! My previous seat was a recaro srd seat, so while not quite as supportive as the srd, much more comfortable and leather too!
