What color is this F15? wrong notation on BMWUSA site?

Unable to upload pics to this thread due to higher resolution. Please access them here @ http://www.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=846222

The first set of pics under Wall Papers (The car titled with 8463)

Vs

Pics under Xdrive50i - Car titled with 4707. (These appear to be sparkling brown).

BMWUSA has a media gallery on their X5 page and states clearly car titled with 8463 as Sparking Brown. However, they don't appear to be Sparking Brown.

There is a huge difference in colors from both the sets. I think the car in 8463 is Dark Graphite and not Sparking Brown.

Can anyone confirm?

Well, if you ask me, 4707 and 8463 are both sparkling brown.

Sparkling Brown can be tricky and depending on light conditions (and even photo equipment used to take these images - like lenses, specific filters etc.), the same color can appear much different.

I checked the gallery on bmwusa.com and there are indeed two images where the X5 appears to be darker. However, pay close attention to the conditions: There was no sun on these two images. On the other pictures, you can see a clear brown touch ("sparkle") in the sun.

Oh, you might be interested in this. The 8463 looks brown to me...

To be fair, the F15 they used isn't the most expensive, either. Although it's the V8, they could have used the M Package with 20"-wheels...
