Is it possible to clear check engine codes with Esys / an ENET cable?

I coded some stuff in the Kombi box and triggered a check engine light somehow, the car is running fine. Is there a way with the ENET cable to to check the codes and clear them?

You can try Tool32 and with thanks to Shawnsheridan, this is how you do it.

There are two versions of Tool32 in EDIABAS so make sure you use the German version as the English one won't work.

Assuming the fault condition no longer exists, to clear the fault code.

1) Launch C:\EDIABAS\Bin\TOOL32.EXE
2) Hit F3
3) Load C:\EDIABAS\Ecu\F01.PRG
4) In the "Select Job: F01" window, select FS_LOESCHEN_FUNKTIONAL
5) Hit F5
6) "Results" window should show "JOB_STATUS = OKAY"

Hopefully, Problem Solved.
Note: fs_lesen_funktional only read fault codes, FS_LOESCHEN_FUNKTIONAL will delete it.

Good luck

Let's chat about this a bit further as I was wondering the same thing.

Recently I had a bad experience after changing my spark plugs. The car was in limp mode, CEL on, and it would not start at all. There were TONS of codes stored when the car got to the dealer.

But I ran Tool32, all of the steps described above, and it did not find ANY codes. Thoughts?

Thanks,
Is your EDIABIS.ini file set for ENET Interface?

Are you connected to the car, with power on the car when you try it?

Thanks,
You need to use the German version not the one in English!

If you, like many other, have received the coding package from Shawn then it is in there. You just need to search for it.

Thanks,
What worked for me after reading for a while is to copy to C:\Windows\SysWOW64 the following files "MSLFXGRD.OCX" and "Richtx32.ocx" from C:\EDIABAS\Bin and register the using Command Prompt as an Administrator with the following command regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\MSLFXGRD.OCX and regsvr32 C:\Windows\SysWOW64\Richtx32.ocx. I think this problem only happens in computer running 64bits. Hope that helps

I'm not sure what Shawn now sends out mate. Just try the one and see if it works. If it's not the correct one you will notice it just hangs when you try to use it.

I had the same issue with Tool32, I needed to run it on windows pro because it was 32bit and my machine only ran 64bit (or windows xp/vista). I tested this on a few computers too and that was the common denominator.

I found when VO coding the KOMBI it reset the date and time. This causes the warning triangle to appear and setting it correct on the iDrive clears it.

Hi, So this happened to me as well but I am running E-sys 3.24.3 and there is no EDIABAS folder. Is there another way to clear this with E-Sys?

EDIABAS is no longer included in E-Sys package as it is not required by E-Sys.

PM sent.
