Nope, it can be in any model I'm pretty sure. Looks like leatherette but trust me its very nice. And that looks like a nice interior combo! iDrive, sport wheel, brushed alu, love it!

If you have the VIN, try a VIN decoder and see whats listed as the interior option.

Nope. My 335xi has it. And I love it. Super easy to care for and it still looks new. When I was looking at cars, there was another 335xi with leather and the same mileage and the interior looked far more worn.

that's leatherette. if it were leather there would be sewn horizonal group of lines splitting the leather section of the door card, as well as the upper part of the seatback.

E90 328's also had leatherette. I think starting from the 335i and higher (including the 5-Series) is where leather becomes standard.

Nope. See above. It's still an option on the 335i's. At least in Canada. Which was cool cuz we get a lot of other equipment standard on the 335i, including power seats, cold weather package, (fold down seats, seat heaters, sunroof, headlight washers on xi), xenon headlights and 18" wheels/oil cooler as part of the sport package.

As far as I know most BMWs have leather as an option, Mercedes is the same way. My husband's 2005 E320 has MB Tex, which is similar to BMW's leatherette. It still has leather inserts on the seats, but isn't all leather. The leatherette is really nice though and very long lasting, plus most people can't tell the difference.

Leatherette was one of the things I looked for in my 335. The leather smells nice but in a used BMW it just makes things look cheap. The faux stuff looks brand new and feels soft.

Leather is softer and more comfortable, but the leatherette is much more durable and easier to care for.

I thought that leatherette was not even available on 335i. Anyway, I can feel the difference and prefer real leather, even though it is more work to maintain.

To the op: this looks like leatherette because of no stitching on door panels.

Nope! My 335i has leatherette, and I too love it. Looks and feels very nice, and doesn't wear out nearly as easily.

i drove a leathertte sport package 335 when I got my first 335. I ended up going leather because of the color combo I wanted but the leatherette was much more stiff and supple.
